Spicy Tuna Wraps

Get your spicy tuna fix in minutes with this easy spicy tuna wraps recipe!
I’m a tiny bit in love with wraps. There’s something about circular food that makes me happy, and sometimes a square or rectangular sandwich just doesn’t cut it. Especially when you love lots of veggies in your sandwich, like me, but all the fillings fall all over the place if you’re clumsy, like me. Wraps solve this problem in one beautiful, hand held solution, so naturally I’m always trying out new combinations and experimenting with creative wrap recipes, like these spicy tuna wraps.
My spicy tuna wraps were inspired by one of my favorite sushi rolls, the spicy tuna roll. When the Godfather and I go out for sushi, we usually order a small variety of rolls and sashimi or nigiri to share, and there’s always a spicy roll in the mix. But if I want those flavors any other time, I’m out of luck… well, I was before creating this recipe. Sushi grade tuna isn’t exactly portable, nor would a huge slab make a good filling for a wrap. The ahi tuna used for sushi is also on the Seafood Watch list of fish to limit, so I thought to myself, why not make a spicy tuna wrap with sustainable canned tuna instead? Brilliance, right? Not to toot my own horn, but it really was.
A traditional spicy tuna roll doesn’t have any added vegetables, but I adore vegetable-loaded wraps, so I added matchstick carrots, sliced cucumber, and avocado. The crunchy creamy vegetables were the perfect compliment to my easy spicy tuna salad, and when all the flavors come together, it really tastes like a spicy tuna roll, or close enough that I’m happy. The Godfather was happy too, and he’s super picky about tuna salad anything. If you have a friend who hasn’t had a spicy tuna roll because they don’t like the thought of eating raw fish, make them this wrap instead.
